Hi. My name is Molly. My 7 year old was just diagnosed with something called Benign Rolandic Seizure Disorder. He has had 3 seizures(that we know of) all in the early morning hours over the last 3 months. The neurologist we saw said he believes that Sam will grow out of these around 15 years of age, and medicine may or may not be recommended. I DO NOT want to use the anti-seizure meds. for the next 7-8 years, as the side effects are SO scary. GAPS really really scares me too. I just don’t know if I can carry through for an exteded period of time (cost-wise as well). We eat a mostly WAP diet and have recently introduced FCLO. I just wondered if GAPS would be your first course of action. I need some encouragement. Is there anyone who has experienced healing from seizures? Am I looking at the next year or 3 of our lives on GAPS. I have a 7, 5, 3 and 4 month old and I am worn out making all WAP from scratch. I need encouragement to do GAPS if it will heal him!! HELP!
Molly
Hi Molly,
A number of people have had excellent results through GAPS with seizures, yes!
Personally, I would go for it. To reduce overwhelm as well as unnecessary spending, though, I would read the entire GAPS Guide book before beginning the program.
To hear from folks who have seen seizures healed, I recommend posting to one of the email support lists, as presented here: http://gapsguide.com/about/support/ In the subject line of your post, be very specific (eg. ‘seizures healed?’), as few members have the time to read all posts.
All my best,
Baden
